Terms, limitations, and responsibilities for Build Warranty® Approved products
Scope of Approval
The Build Warranty® Product Approval is granted solely for use on construction projects covered by Build Warranty® insurance policies. This approval is specific to the product(s) and system(s) assessed during the approval process and does not extend outside this defined scope.
What the Approval Covers:
- • Use on sites covered by Build Warranty® insurance policies
- • Products as specified and tested during the approval process
- • Installation methods and systems assessed during review
- • Applications within the defined scope of use
What the Approval Does Not Cover:
- • Use outside Build Warranty® insured projects
- • Modified or variant products not specifically tested
- • Alternative installation methods not reviewed
- • Applications outside the approved scope of use
Limitations of Liability
Manufacturer Responsibility
Build Warranty® approval does not transfer any liability for product performance, defects, or failures from the manufacturer to Build Warranty®. All product warranties and guarantees remain solely the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Product Performance
Build Warranty® holds no liability for:
- • Product failures or defects
- • Manufacturing defects or quality issues
- • Consequential damages resulting from product issues
Important: The manufacturer's original warranties and guarantees remain in full effect and are the sole recourse for any product-related claims or issues.
Non-Acceptance by Other Providers
Build Warranty® Product Approval is exclusive to Build Warranty® and does not guarantee acceptance by other warranty providers, insurance companies, or certification bodies.
Other organisations may have different approval processes, criteria, and requirements. Non-acceptance by other providers is beyond the scope of the Build Warranty® approval process and does not reflect on the validity of Build Warranty®'s approval.
Manufacturer Obligations
Manufacturers are solely responsible for:
Notification Requirements:
- • Reporting any product changes or modifications
- • Notifying of certification expirations
- • Disclosing alterations to formulation or specifications
- • Updating installation procedures or requirements
Ongoing Compliance:
- • Maintaining current certifications
- • Ensuring product quality consistency
- • Providing updated technical documentation
- • Compliance with relevant standards and regulations
Critical Requirement: Failure to notify Build Warranty® of material changes may result in immediate withdrawal of approval status.
Installation Requirements
Approved products must be installed strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's approved installation guidance and specifications. Where required by the manufacturer, only approved contractors must be appointed for all installations.
Approved Contractors Requirement
For certain products, installation must be carried out by contractors from Build Warranty®'s approved contractors list. This ensures proper installation standards and may provide additional benefits including warranty enhancements and priority support.
Deviation from approved installation procedures may:
- • Void the product approval status
- • Invalidate warranty coverage
- • Compromise product performance
- • Result in exclusion from Build Warranty® coverage
Right to Withdraw Approval
Build Warranty® reserves the right to withdraw product approval at any time in cases of:
- • Non-compliance with approval terms and conditions
- • Failure to maintain required certifications or standards
- • Misuse of the Build Warranty® Approved logo or branding
- • Product modifications without prior notification
- • Fraudulent or misleading information provided during approval process
- • Persistent quality or performance issues
- • Changes in industry standards or regulations affecting product compliance
Build Warranty® may conduct audits and request updated information at any time to ensure ongoing compliance.
General Disclaimer
This approval is provided in good faith based on information supplied by the manufacturer and independent testing documentation available at the time of assessment. Build Warranty® makes no representations or warranties regarding:
- • The accuracy or completeness of manufacturer-supplied information
- • Product performance in all possible applications or conditions
- • Long-term durability beyond stated test parameters
- • Compatibility with all other building systems or products
This approval does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation for use in applications outside the defined scope, nor does it replace the need for professional judgement in product selection and application.
